I joined Faith in 2003, and Charlie and I were married here in 2004. While working in Russellville, we were “Weekenders” in the Village for 10 years. I retired four years ago after teaching elementary school for 36 years. I have joined the “Ringers” Handbell Choir as well as the Altar Guild, am president of the Ladies Guild, and am a Reader several times each year. Other activities include helping Thanksgiving and Christmas charity projects, and serving as an usher and co-chair of Service Group 2.
I was born in Red Bud in Southern Illinois. Was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church (Prairie) until we moved to the Village; served as Financial Secretary and Treasurer.
My employment years in the Federal Government included Farmers Home Administration, U.S. Army, and Veterans Administration Medical Center at Jefferson Barracks; retired in 2000 after 32 ½ years.
Dave and I moved to the village in 2007 after vacationing/golfing here since 1980.
When first visiting here, we were happy to find a Missouri Synod church in the village. Since becoming members, I have been Financial Secretary for the church and treasurer for LWML ladies Guild.
I enjoy spending time with fellow members in the Bell Choir, Monday morning quilt making for world relief and Wednesday morning Ladies Bible Study.
I moved to the village from Illinois in January 1995, and immediately transferred my membership to Faith Lutheran church. I have been a Missouri Synod Lutheran since birth.
I was very active in Immanuel Lutheran church, in the small town of Loda.
I was on the church council holding the office of treasurer. I was also the president of our Ladies Aid/LWML society, at the time when we moved I was President of the Danville Zone LWML, a position I thoroughly enjoyed.
We travel a lot to Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee where our family members live.
